Herbal Medicine: Tinctures

Course Information

Sat, 03/23/2019 - 10:00am to 4:00pm
Tinctures are best suited for the long term preservation of plant material, the extraction of particular constituents, and ease of taking for many.  These are most often made with alcohol (although can also be made with vinegar, wine, and glycerin) and can be taken internally or applied externally.  We will be focusing on the different ways in which to make alcoholic tinctures; folk, weight to volume, dry vs. fresh, and double extraction.  We will be making a few different tinctures that you will be able to take home and use for your health and well being.
We will surely be making your own bitters, a mushroom double extraction, as well as some others!
