~Birch Bark and Leather Side Bag~ 

Join Penny Hewitt of Lazy Mill Treecraft  for a rarely offered opportunity to weave a double walled diagonally plaited birch bark basket/side bag combined with leather straps and closure flap.  The pouch is approximately  6″x 8″x 2″  with a leather flap and strap; great as a small purse or tool pouch, they are durable and beautiful and practical for daily use.  Skills learned about will include basic leather stitching, birch bark processing and weaving and antler button making. This is a two-day class that also includes a discussion on how birch bark is sustainably harvested and processed. This workshop is for adults as well as experienced teens.

This class is rarely offered and if interested we recommend jumping into it.  This is a beautiful woven bag that is also highly functional.  This class will take place inside the Roots School workshop so space is limited.

An additional materials fee of $125 goes to Penny at the start of class.
