Roots Summer Day Camps

This summer we have two exciting options for day camp for Ages 9-13  the Roots Summer Day Camp and the Stealth and Awareness Day Camp.

Weekly Homeschool Program

Throughout the school year Roots offers a one day a week homeschool program for students 8-14. Students will build wilderness reliance skills, work on hand crafts, and engage with the nautal world through studies and exploration.

Family and All Ages Courses

All Ages Fire Making

An all ages day learning to build a fire, first with one match, then with fire by friction using the bow drill method. Kids under 16 need to be accompanied by an adult. Dates TBA.

ROOTS Rendezvous

The ROOTS Rendezvous is a yearly autumn gathering where instructors from all over the country come to present a wide variety of 2 1/2 hour traditional craft, survival skills, and naturalist workshops over the course of 3 days. All ages, children under 12 are free!

Children's Bow Making

A weekend of carving your own wooden bow from a sapling off the land. Ages 9-13 and must be accompanied by a helpful adult! Learn knife safety, carving techniques, and how to use a saw to harvest your own saplings off the land. Dates TBA.

Family Wilderness Skills Overnight

Joins ROOTS for a day and night of family self reliance skills. We will cover lots of fun skills and work with all ages to help everyone learn regardless of age or skill. Learn how to set up camp, make a fire with matches or bow drill, make rope from plants, and much more! Dates TBA.
