Coil Basketry

In this workshop you will learn the coiling technique for weaving baskets. Coiling is an ancient and versatile method of constructing vessels for a variety of functions and from a wide variety of natural, materials. We will focus on the use of various grasses, sedges, and rushes, pine needles, cedar bark, and cattail leaves. With this important weaving technique in your repertoire you will find that nearly any wild or found material can be used to make an elegant and functional basket.
