Teen Wilderness Survival

For a million years every human being on earth lived in and with the wild land. In Roots Teen Survival Course students will learn the skills and knowledge that allowed us to thrive around the world long before the first metal tools were made. All lessons will be experiential as students put their hard work, resourcefulness, and adaptability to the test as they: build survival shelters, make friction fire, gather and purify water, make rock tools, learn primitive hunting and trapping, harvest wild plants, and practice a wide variety of other primitive skills. Along with this training, students will begin to connect with the land around them through wildlife tracking and nature awareness. This course is open to all skill levels.
